Collie Turner

Director

Collie Turner is the Founder and Executive Director of Heroic Gardens. Since 2018, the organization has helped US Veterans and their families experience the healing power of plants and nature throughout the Delaware Valley. This 100% volunteer organization provides services that are free to Veterans.

A daughter and granddaughter of Veterans, as well as the daughter of a Pennsylvania Conservation District Director and the granddaughter of an organic farmer, Collie has always had a deep rooted connection to her local Veteran community and to the plant world.


Collie is a candidate for a certificate in Horticultural Therapy from Temple University's Tyler School of Art Division of Architectural & Environmental Design. In 2020, she was awarded The Linda Ciccantelli Memorial Scholarship presented by the Mid-Atlantic Horticultural Therapy Network. Heroic Gardens is the 2021 Outstanding Programming Recipient from the Mid-Atlantic Horticultural Therapy Network, and was recently named Giveadelphia’s Season Three Beneficiary.
