Aubrey L. Sjuit, PhD, LISW-SP, LCAS, MEd, GCDF

Assistant Professor of Social Work and a Counselor for the Sib Collins Counseling Center at Limestone University

Aubrey L. Sejuit, Ph.D., LISW-CP, LCAS, MEd, GCDF is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and a Counselor for the Sib Collins Counseling Center at Limestone University.

She is the SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society Faculty Advisor and Zeta Beta Theta Sorority Chapter Advisor at Limestone University. She is also an adjunct instructor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program at South University and in the Human Services (HS) program at Midlands Technical College, both in Columbia, SC. She specializes in mental health—addictions specifically.


Dr. Sejuit is an Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) veteran who served with the 203D MI BN in the 513th MI BDE as part of the Intelligence Security Command (INSCOM) in Baghdad, Iraq as an Intelligence Analyst and earned the Joint Service Achievement Medal (JSAM) among other awards. She is also a Co-Founder of the Veterans Alumni Council (VAC) at the University of South Carolina, where she earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision and served under the mentorship of Dr. Kathy M. Evans. Co-Founder and former Ethics & Bylaws Committee Chair for the South Carolina Career Development Association (SCCDA), in 2021, she co-authored and published Gaining Cultural Competence in Career Counseling (2nd edition) with Dr. Evans. She is the President-Elect, starting her presidency in July of 2022, for the National Association of Social Workers-South Carolina (NASW-SC) Chapter and the incoming Secretary for the South Carolina Counseling Association (SCCA). Dr. Sejuit is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Columbia (LC) and a 2020/2021 graduate of Leadership Lexington County (LLC).


Dr. Sejuit was a 2020 Midlands Woman of Distinction through the Girl Scouts of South Carolina—Mountain to Midlands and the 2019 recipient of the South Carolina Counseling Association’s Distinguished Professional Service Award. She sits on the Advisory Board for DSS-Lexington County and is the Secretary for the Friends of Fisher House of Columbia, SC and on the Board of the 9/11 Remembrance Foundation.


Dr. Sejuit is also the Chair for the ABC’s Committee of the Junior League of Columbia (JLC) for a second year. A native of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University (FM Alumna), Syracuse University, the University of South Carolina, and Cochise College.
